Groups meet three times per week at the below listed days and times:

    • Monday 12-1pm
    • Tuesday 12-1pm
    • Thursday 12-1pm

Clients will be assigned an individual DBT therapist at The Refinery for once weekly sessions while enrolled in the program.

    WHY DBT?

If you’re ready for change and past attempts at therapy have failed, our Accelerated DBT Program may be right for you! DBT delivers a practical set of skills that you will learn weekly in individual and group therapy. These skills can help you learn to manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive and unhelpful behavior, live in the present moment without judgment, improve relationships, and create a life worth living with joy and peace.

     SKILLS YOU WILL LEARN:

Mindfulness: take charge of your mind and thoughts, rather than your thoughts/ impulses taking charge of you

Distress Tolerance: cope safely/ effectively with emotional crisis

Interpersonal Effectiveness: keep and strengthen important relationships while protecting your own sense of self-respect

Emotion Regulation: change and prevent painful emotions that lead to crisis, as well as understand the natural purpose/ usefulness of emotions

     WHAT IS ACCELERATED DBT?

Accelerated DBT is a “crash course” in DBT for those who want to quickly learn and apply the skills necessary to create a life worth living. Our eight-week program will not only introduce you to the core DBT skills in group, but you will also be matched with an individual DBT therapist to help you apply the skills you are learning and make meaningful change. Participants will attend one individual therapy session and three one-hour groups per week.

We require an 8-week commitment to this program. Some individuals choose to go through the curriculum more than once in order to consolidate all of the skills they are learning.
