Raymond Hernandez – Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, 88975

We all learn, whether intentionally or not, ways to handle the hardships that are a part of our life. These choices and mechanisms can be helpful and fruitful for our lives, or they can have hurtful and destructive outcomes. Some may seek healing, while others may choose to numb or ignore uncomfortable circumstances. No matter where you may fall on this spectrum, my desire as a therapist is to assist you with learning healthy and positive coping skills, so that you can take these skills into your everyday life and bring about the change you would like to see in yourself. I truly empathize with my clients and try to walk along side them, putting my feet in their shoes. What better way to help a person, than to walk a mile in their shoes, see where they’ve been and figure out where they want to go.

Cindy Miyamoto – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, 105099

Some people might ask “how is therapy going to help me, does it really work?” Seeking therapy can feel intimidating and even uncomfortable. We might feel as though something in our life seems “off or not right,” it can feel more comfortable and easier to continue with our old day-to- day habits because it is how we have been surviving. We develop patterns to feel safe when we do not have the support needed. Growth is a process and healing is a journey, significant change requires deep personal examination, which is hard to do on our own. Compassion, acceptance, and a non-
judgmental stance are essential to my approach. I primarily utilize Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Clients develop new perspectives and healthier patterns that
empower them to achieve their goal and develop more fulfilling lives.

Clinical Experience

My name is Cindy Miyamoto I received a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of California Santa Barbara and a Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Rebecca Hames – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, 96196

Hi, I’m Rebecca and as a marriage and family therapist I believe everybody deserves to be understood and heard. I’m someone who listens to understand you and the challenges holding you back from living the life you imagine for yourself. I help teens, adults and couples who want to make a change in their life but find themselves trapped by uncertainty, fear, grief, anxiety, or other life obstacles. Together, we find the edges of your comfort zone and expand them – sometimes gently and sometimes boldly – to bring about real transformation.

One of my areas of specialty is working with straight spouses and mixed-orientation relationships. When your spouse comes out, your world is flipped upside down and so much uncertainty comes up. I get it…I’ve been there. I know my story but I’m interested in understanding yours and helping you navigate the complicated emotions that come along with learning your spouse’s sexual identity.

I’m curious and will ask a lot of questions to help you uncover answers that I believe are already inside of you. I listen, not just to your words, but also to the emotions driving your story. When change needs to happen, it helps to have support and I hope you reach out.
